Chili's Re-Image

Chili's rolled out a brand new design for their new stores. This new look deviates greatly from the previous colorful design. We aimed for a more "new school" look that embraced natural materials and relied on textures, rather than color and decor, to create interest.

My contributions include: liquor display design, hostess stand design, light fixture selection, space planning studies, coordination with architectural consultants and vendors, review of construction drawings for accuracy.

Chili's "Flagship" Re-Image

Several years into the re-image program that was sweeping the fleet, Chili's tested out adding some extra elements including enlarging the windows at the bar, incorporating some new materials, and new awnings which I designed. While restaurants with a basic re-image were seeing a 3% sales lift on average, my awning design contributed to a sales lift of 22%.

Chili's Louisville Airport

I designed this airport location to have local nostalgic elements including a Kentucky Derby mural, a feature wall composed of bourbon barrel staves and a iron decor piece, and a baseball bat detail along the drink rail. I incorporated the nostalgia into the red and black material palette that is signature to Chili's airports. I also built this SketchUp model.

Chili's Pier Park, FL

This site-adapted Chili's has features unique to its location - down the road from the beach.

I design the murals, selected finishes, coordinated with purchasing on furniture selection, and collaborated with fellow designers to produce the overall building design.

Chili's Small Town Prototype

I generated the SketchUp model and selected the finishes for the a new prototype design.

Chili's Las Vegas Strip

This is another site-adapted Chili's. We designed the restaurant with elements specific to Las Vegas. I developed the graphics for the poker tables and the etched glass cards with color-changing LEDs.

Maggiano's Union Trust

Maggiano's proposed taking over a complicated multi-level historic building. I developed the seating and kitchen layouts. In addition to occupying a mezzanine and basement level, the main level was split three ways with low ceilings in some areas and double volumes in other areas.
